Hey guys, I searched but couldn't find an answer. I want to know if the chrome bars in the HD grille can come out in order to paint the grille and grille surround to match. My truck is DSG and I think it would look good with a DSG HD grille but keep the chrome bars. Do they unsnap/unscrew? I haven't seen one up close. Thanks.

 

I think if you were to try and pop those out, they would break, and wouldn't snap back on. I've seen guys on this forum paint the chrome bars. They're just plastic.

 

I think the surround is removable on all the trucks, its just those plastic clips that you have to pry out to get the grill to come out the back side
