need help with tires...

I know that this is a double post... but I am in desperate need of help with this topic...

I put on a set of Harley rims on my 2008 F150 reg. cab, reg. bed FX2. I had some Nitto 420S tires fitted on them and they have been horrible... I love the grip and the handling of these tires, but they flat spot sooooo horribly. in the mornings I can feel the truck literally bounce up and down when i start off... Then getting up to higher speeds it is like driving the truck with square wheels... yes they warm up and get "better" but they never are in good balance and are always out of round...

I am also on my second set of these tires due to sidewall splitting. This second set is starting to split as well... needless to say... I am not going back to these tires. The tire company has agreed to let me change into a different tire at no cost. So what say you? I need a good riding tire that is not going to destroy my truck from flat spotting... I am afraid that if this flat spotting continues, It will destroy my suspension/ steering/ everything...

Do you all have any recommendations on a new set of tires? The size that I am running is 305/40r22

I have the Yokohama YK 520's on my truck & love them!!!!!! Been running the Yokohama Avid's on everything for the past 15 years.....they went through some major design upgrades a few years ago.....the newest YK520's are now called the YK 580's...and have them on my wifes 1997 Cougar Sport.....

I cannot say enough about these tires in terms of ride quality, dry/wet traction, road feel (good, not too heavy or light- just right), wear, warranty and contruction strength (wife pulled in the driveway not long ago, advised me she thinks there is a large screw/bolt in the tire...I check...yes, 3/8", still sticking out and did not penetrate the core- not even a leak).

Im on my 4th set of kumho ecstas. Im running 305/30/26
on my supercharged 07 f150.
I can tell you this, these tires can take some serious abuse. They keep going and going. Just keep them fully aired up .

I had some Yokohama Parada spec-x in 305/40-22 and they were great. I now have some Nexen roadian hp tires in the same size and they are OK. I tow my boat with the truck on the Nexens and they are holding up but they are slightly noisier than the Yokohamas were. I'm also running the 08 Harley rims.

I've got these in that size on my HD and love them. Nice smooth ride and rugged tread pattern. Great all round tire.

I went thru 2 sets of the exact 420s' on my Harley, best tire I've ever owned. I think you just got a bad batch. I'd take them where you purchased them from and have a new set put on.

Stealth, Did you have any problems with flat spotting on the yoko's?

MRLSU2U... thats the thing... I am already on my 3rd set of these 420's and they are all doing the same exact thing... the discount tire that I am working with is being very helpful. they called nitto while I was there to ask them what was going on. Nitto had no response and no help. I am now extremely hesitant to put on a set of tires after their third "strike"... especially if the company that makes them is not willing to help. I may try the yokohama's. but I am unsure as the sidewall looks to be much softer...
