That could be. Let me see if I can figure out why I ordered that particular shackle. It must have been mentioned someplace. I will see what the instruction paper said.
I do know I measured it and was a little worried that it was going to be more than 4" in difference, compared to the old shackle I took off anyway.
And there is no way to place a longer shackle in there. I had to bend the sheet metal seam above the spring eye so that the end of the shackle wouldn't hit it.

Interesting. I found one mention that it was a 1", 2" or 3" lower depending on the hole you use. and they do have three holes to choose from. I would swear it also said 4" someplace else.
Also, when I looked on the Belltech website it wouldn't tell me that the front lowering kit #9551 would work on the Harley edition but it fit just fine.
When I measured the difference it was closer to 4 3/4 inches longer than the stock shackle from eye to eye so I installed it on the middle hole the first time but after looking at it decided to move them to the end holes.
I should have measured it before the lower but I didn't. I will try to get some pictures tomorrow so you can at least see what it looks like.

4" on the shackle only give ~2" of drop.

since the lever effect!...diff is half way from the front " pivot point"

Ya. I measured it yesterday compared to a stock 2010 and its only about 2.5" lower.
Dont ask me how I came up with the 4" number. Probably a daydream here at work after my 45th day in a row of 12hr shifts.
I took some pictures of the 2 trucks nose to nose also and I will try to post them today on my next break.

Belltech lower kit vs Stock

Ok, there is a picture in my album if I did it correctly. Like I said, not a huge difference but its noticeable.
I did it to improve the handling. I received my Hellwig rear swaybar today and hopefully I can put it on during lunch tomorrow.

That's exactly what I wanted to see! I just ordered the parts necessary for the lowering, I'm gonna find some helper bags to order too. Let us know how the sway bar does? I'm interested in buying one as well and figured I'd just wait for your review.:woot:

The swaybar seems to have made a difference. Bear in mind that I have only driven to and from work now (17 miles each way) every single day since the first of April so my variety of experience with it is slim. It does feel a bit tighter on the freeway though. Enough that I would say its worth the $220+.
I am hoping to get a trip to Brian Head in the next couple of weeks and give the Superchip and Suspension a workout. Some high speed running on I-15 to check the governor unlocking and a nice canyon to check the suspension.

i'm looking to do a 3/4 drop on my 13 f150 reg cab swb stx. i prefer to maintain a little rake from front to back, and maintain a stock ride quality

what are my options?

T_S_S 06-03-2013 11:25 AM

The 3/5 still has alil rake but not much of one. I would do the Belltech lowering struts in front. That will improve the ride up front. The rear flip kit and SP shocks. Most of our F150 customers use Airlift helper bags as well.

Looking to just level/lower the back of my 11 HD (AWD). What the best route, 2 inch drop shackles? Also what would price be for that shipped to 66210?

worm5932 08-13-2013 07:19 AM

The website only shows 97-03 parts?

I would use Belltech part number 6409. It will do 2" or 3". I believe 3" on the AWD/4WD model is more level. $13 for shipping using USPS

I know this thread is a year old but would anyone be able to quote me a price on about a 2 and 4 drop kit for an 05 stx scab?
