Ready to drop and need your imput.

Well I have put this off and debated about whether or not to do it long enough. I want to lower my truck. See the trucks on this forum has cemented that. Looking at the Belltech 908SP kit and 914SP. Leaning hardest toward the 908SP kit since it comes with the springs. Summit having it on sale for $449.10 doesn't hurt either. But price isn't everything and I'm not sold on any one kit or brand. I would very much appreciate the imput of you folks here. A 2"F and 4"R drop would be my preference but I haven't found one. Many thanks in advance!

I should also mention I have no use for the rear shocks of any kit. I have QA1 shocks dual adjustable for drag racing back there.

you already have long bars right? That will play into how much and how you drop the rear.

I would do a 3 or 4" leaf spring and be done with it.

and you're truck is 2wd right?

Yes I'm 2wd and I do have Caltrec Bars back there. I spoke with Caltrec and they have adapters that work with the flip kits for around $80. I would do the drop via leaf springs but I have to have the strength back there with the torque I'm making. I would wrap those types of springs up in a heartbeat.

Thats good to hear. I plan to do the same. Do the flip part myself and let a shop install the front. It's got to be lined up anyway and I don't want the headache of that front end. Is the ride stiff and sporty with the belltech parts?

if you have drop leafs and traction bars, you shouldn't have axle wrap issues

from my experience flip kits encourage wheel hop/ axle wrap more than drop springs do

Interesting. Where can I get a good set of drop leaf springs? I looked at the Eibachs a while back but was strongly encouraged to stay away from them due to my power output.

I would agree with that if you didnt already have traction bars. There are tons of Lightning guys that are putting down 500+ on drop components, and even some using fiberglass mono leaf springs

Belltech makes a 3" leaf if you have changed your mind on the flip kit.

How much? And will it stand up to the power with drag slicks? This is why I didn't use the Eibach leafs. I was warned they would not perform well.

I can't wait either. Gonna do the flip part tomorrow and probably let the local tire/alighnment shop install the springs and shocks up front. I really don't wanna fool with it since a decent spring compressor is not readily avaliable here. Plus they can go ahead and line her up. New General Grabber UHP's went on today. Loving them too.
