Question Help with tire sizing..

Its my plan to install a 3" (3.5") / 5" drop on my 04 S-Cab. I had intially planned on putting 22's on but have recently come accross a set of 20's that Im really interested in.

My issue is trying to minimize the wheel gap while utilizing a 20x8 wheel and tire combo. I dont want a huge aspect ratio tire, I would like to keep a lower profile tire but dont want to drop the truck any lower than mentioned above.

Any suggestions from you folks would be greatly appreciate, in addition any pics of trucks dropped on a set of 20's would be welcomed.

Thanks for looking...

Should I feel discouraged due to 103 views and no input from anyone? Do I need to repost this in a different sub-forum area like "wheels, tires & brakes"? It seems that area is less likely to discuss anything other than lifted or leveling F150's...

I have 18's on my truck now and will be getting 275/40/20 for my 20's once I get done with a few more things. my drop is 4.5/6.5. With a 3.5/5 drop and 20's to fill the wheel gap would need a 275/45/20 most likely

Greatly appreciate the input. After speaking with a few other members and taking in to account the look and sizes they are utilizing, I think the 275/45/20 will be a perfect fit for what Im looking to accomplish.

Thanks again...

The silver 04 in my album has 265 50 20s on the front and 295 50 20s in the back. I had the 295s before the drop and only wanted to replace 2 due to cost.

Assuming you have the '05 - up body style like me and not the "classic", I wish I'd gone with the 265/50-20 instead of the 275/55. It's closer to the original tire diameter and would have left me more room to drop. Also would look less ballon-y.
