Groundforce rear spring drop with shackle question
Groundforce rear spring drop with shackle question
Does anyone know if using the groundforce rear drop spring kit for a 2009-2011 f150 paired with drop shackles will work or cause problems? This would be a quick fix for the belltech problem?
The GF leaf springs will be stiffer than your stock leafs but you should not have any problems running the combo. As far as the belltech issue, That has to do with no adjustability in the flip. You will have your 4" drop from the leaf and 2" of adjustment from the shackle. So you could drop the rear anywhere from 4"-6".
Like log truck bad stiff or not much different than stock? I will still probably install bags in the rear also with this set up like I was with the belltech. That shouldn't hurt. Thanks
Colonel you could just go ahead and bite the bullet and be the "guinny pig" for this. lol. There are a few folks that really don't like flip kits at all and would probably love to drop their truck if they could just do a leaf and shackle. Kinda risky but if it works then whammy, you're good to go AND a legend. lol
Like I said in my PM
It all really depends on what you are looking for, the ground force leafs will be stiffer than stock and honestly I wish I had aftermarket leaf springs so that my rear end wouldn't be so soft, but I couldn't get as low as I am as easily with leafs. So basically what I am saying is you would be fine with leafs and a drop shackle but it will be stiffer. In my opinion that is a good thing.
Now for another option is the DJM flip kit, they drop the truck 6" but they then include either a lifting hanger or a lifting shackle to achieve either a 4 or 5" drop. and the flip kit has an adjustable pinion angle unlike any other flip kit, which is a nice feature.

Keep me updated on your Belltech Flip Kit you ordered. I have never been a fan of DJM products because of the quality.

Belltech does too but the issue with the flip kit is narrowed down to ONLY the Crew Cab 2009+ models. The issue is with the different Tire/Wheel,Tow Package and Leaf Springs offered by the factory.
The DJM stuff could be made a lot nicer. I do not like the idea of 4 pieces of metal welded together when it could be made with 2 welds.

i have this set it up now. with ground force rear leafs and belltech 1in. drop shackles. it sits about 3/4in higher on the rear.no issue. i think im going with a belltech flip. the rake isnt looking good to me.
Why wouldn't you just replace your belltech shackle with a groundforce that has the 1" and 2" drop positions? problem solved.
When I had GF drop shackles they were 1 1/2" and 2" drop position.
