Need help on groundforce 2/4

Hi! As the title says, i need help because you guys are talking about altered driveline angles when lowering the truck but my GF 2/4 does not come with any shims. Do i need one? I have also read on somewhere that on my particular model which has a 1 pc. Shaft i do not need it. Pls enlighten me on this.

And if i really do need it, what deg should i get and where should the thicker part face?

Thanks

If shims were required for the kit, they would've been included.

In the unlikely event that you do need pinion shims and don't install them, you'll notice a distinct vibration when accelerating.

You can call Ground Force tech support if you want to double-check. 724-430-2068

With a mild drop it is not typically needed.

if you are altering your pinion angle you need to correct it. Its not a matter of "typically needed" you need to take your truck somewhere and have the pinion angle measured, and an appropriate shim installed if needed.

you didnt need shims because we did the carrier bearing support bracket, which lifted the front of the driveshaft, which corrected your pinion angle as well as your driveshaft angle

This is assuming your kit came with Coils and Shackles/Hangers

Yes, my GF came with coils shackles and hangers but there were no shims included and the instruction that came with it is different with the belltech as it doesnt include dissasembling the leaf pack. It rides just fine. Im just curious and i think based on the pictures the belltech 2/4 gives a lower stance than my GF as i have a slightly raked look compared to belltech's flat stance

I can get you the 6° Pinion Shims for $32 shipped. But I would call Groundforce and ask their tech department what makes their different to NOT need shims.

They give you shims for the trans for 1 piece drive shaft and they have you modify where the 2 piece drive shaft mounts to the body of the truck to correct the angle of the dangle

Yes the 1pc drive shaft gets a transmission shim, not a pinion shim, at least on the NBS trucks. 2 piece drive shaft gets a carrier bearing relocator bracket.
