Lowering question for you guys

Im wanting to go with a 2/4 or 3/5. I was thinking about starting with 2" belltech spindles and rear leafs and 1" shackles. What I'm wondering is it worth doing the 3" eibach rears with a 1" shackle or is it better to do the flip and keep the stock spring. If I end up wanting to go lower I figure I'd add belltech adjustable struts and end up doing the flip kit or see if its possible to use the eibach rears with a 2" shackle. All this is confusing I know. Any help appreciated.

Thanks,

Wade

well it depends on how much you want to spend and what you want the ride quality to be.

I know the spindles are expensive and Im ok with that. I have a budget but Im cool with spending a little to do it up right. For some reason the flip kit worries me in the long run. Not even sure why it matters to me because if I put the leafs and shackles on the axle will be the same distance to the frame as with the flip kit. I think I just wanted to know the best way to do the rear of the truck.

I'd suggest an Eibach 2/4 coil/leaf w shackle drop or a Ground Force 2/4 coil/leaf drop. I have a Ground Force 9949 with Eibach dampers at the corners and the truck rides like a dream.

I have a 4.6. Im looking at getting the 22" 08' Harley wheels. Im also looking at other 20" wheels too. I just want the overall tire height to be about the same as the stock ones.

No one likes the spindles? This is my first full size 2wd truck I've owned. I've had some s10's and it seemed like the lowering choices were so much easier to make on those.

I like the idea of the spindle just because I can keep all the original geometry of the front end. I know you guys have been able to get all your trucks aligned, just figured Id do it that way since all my old trucks were done with spindles.

I don't care for the stock ride (too soft) so I went with something sportier.

Sorry man, forgot to put that info.
Reg. Cab with 6.5 bed.

Also, I've got warped rotors I'll be replacing so figured spindles wouldn't be that big of a deal since those are coming off.

I think the spindles are a good choice. They keep the front end geometry at stock and keep a decent ride. The only bad thing is you have to run a 20" or bigger. I would run them if I didn't have to run the stock wheels in the snow.

+1

I had this setup minus the dampers on my old 05 regular cab and loved the stance.

Pictures in my album.

Ok, so what about this instead. Belltech adjustable struts up front and the flip kit in the back? Figured that would allow me to set it at the 2/4 and change it to the 3/5 if I wanted.
