Roush Nightmare shackles

The Roush Nightmare Shackles have two positions , Ive heard different determinations as far as what they do. 1 inch and 2 inch, or 1.5 and 2". Whatever it is Im on the first hole. So lets call it a 2/4 drop on a 4x4. If your interested in these shackles , the best place to get them is on Roush overstock site . I got them for $40. ebay auctions are just being the middle man and charging you. They are sweet looking if you like smurf blue. Im not a fan of the color, but it matches my front swaybar. They come with grease fittings. and look pretty rugged. (except the color) . After drilling all those holes, I got an acid brush, and kept dipping it in the 3M body schutz and pushing it up into all the holes to try to prevent corosion. take your time and do an overkill kind of job on it. If you go this route and need any advice PM me and Ill try to help.

Ok I have the skirts, saleen exhaust, and tips on their way. Ill just switch out the saleen muffler for my dual in dual out magnaflow. I have a buddy that can paint it to match the gold color of the truck but I dont know how long it will take to install lol. It may look funny with only side skirts at first but once I get the front and rear going on and the roll pan it'll look good. Just ran out of money for now. I found a guy on Ebay selling the whole setup for $400 which alone on Ebay all the parts are about 500-600 with shipping.

Saleen Rocker extensions

When you get the rockers, first see if you have the instructions. If not I could e mail you a copy. Next check all the included brackets , make sure you have the right brackets for your truck, the p/n's are stamped into them. I didnt recieve the right brackets or the full ammount of brackets needed. I also had to do alot of hunting to get the instructions. Once I got by those problems, I had to source the proper hardware. you can ushually get that stuff in a day from an autobody supplier. Once your ready to install, jackstands are good but a lift would be better. if you can get some time on a friends lift it would most likely cut the install time in half. I spent about 4 hrs. per side. in my driveway with jackstands. The instructions recommend the use of a product called Body Schutz made by 3M, to coat the drilled holes to prevent future corrosion. It comes in a can that requires a special spraygun. I borrowed the gun from a friend in auto body. The Schutz is a great product , I have used previously in the wheelwells of my jeep. it holds up to abuse. I picked up a couple cans and did the underside of the cab as well. I also used it in my rear wheelwells to make them black. ( they were a light tan color from the factory). but you can treat the holes using an acid brush to get some up inside where you want it. Let me know if you need any advice on the project.

Hey can you shoot me the instructions over via email? I'm fairly sure it wont come with instructions. Oh and I'm a mechanic so a lift is no problem for me! I'll look into the body schutz too!

Parts

I was waiting to hear if you recieved the right parts before telling you this part of the story, I wouldnt want to give anyone anxiety. But here goes. First I tried to have an east coast distributor of Saleen and Roush parts get me the correct parts. I was told I should deal with Saleen directly. So I did. I was told they (Saleen) where holding on to their inventory of parts for VIN holders of saleen trucks. S.O.L. I thought. So I went back to the Original seller. (Found a Deal.com) I sent them a copy of the instructions . They didn't have any idea what parts went in what kits. I highlighted the parts that I needed. They requested the return of the incorrect parts. They had found all the brackets I needed and would send them out once the others arrived. It all went down like I said.

If you got stuck without the correct brackets, I would try contacting Found a deal.com, and see if they could located some for you and negotiate a price. I couldnt hurt to try. Lets just hope all the correct parts are included with what you bought.

Yes 8 brackets is what you should need, The screw takes 10. The thing is they are all different sizes and have specific places they need to be, because the rockers have a contour or hourglass shape to them. I believe the shape is designed like that for more than just looks. I have found that stepping out of the truck occationally my foot (size 11) comes in contact with them. I believe if they didnt have the contour to them this would happen more often.
