I'm the opposite. I can't stand a tire that is flush with the rim, no protection.

LOL I guess when you drove a bagged truck so long you get used to the look of the flush fitting tires because when you got a bagged truck you don't want you tires ballooning any LOL anyways if everyone thought the same there would only be one tire size

Your stock tires are 30" tall recommended rim width 6-8" and section width 9.6" the 305s are 31.5" tall recommended rim width 10-12" and section width 12.5" that's what I'm getting at the 305s are to big for the Harley wheels the biggest I'd go on them are 285/40/22 hell even on my 24x10 kmc SS wheels I have 275s LOL and the fit perfect I had 295s before I got my new ones and they looked horrible

Thats the tire size that came with the Harley wheels from the factory. I had a chrome set and the 285/45/22 tire didnt offer much protection when rubbing up againist something. A 305/45/22 tire is approved for a 9.5"-11.5" and the stock Harley wheel is 9" wide. If I were you I would go with the 305/45/22 but thats just me. Below is a pic showing how a 285/45/22 looks from a front angle view.

LOL here you guys are saying that size tire doesn't offer protection if you want protection lift the truck and put some 40s on it heck I'm running 275-30-24s never curb checked my wheels no dents or anything my wife drives the truck more than I do LOL I thought I would have to worry about her curb checking my wheels

That works for you buy you haven't seen the sidewalls on the car my wife drives! Usually you replace tires for tread wear, but not for her!

Of course I'm exaggerating, but you get the point.

The 305 will be a hair taller no more than probably a 1/4" but the 305 is wide compared to the 285
