Bell tech 3-5 drop

Let me try this one last time" ANYONE"

I an going to put on the bell tech 3-5 kit I have a 2008 screw 2wd wit a 5.4 that has the long bed so it has the two piece drive shaft. Per the instructions to drop it 3" in the front I have to notch the frame 3/8 of an inch where the lower control arm attaches for alignment puposes. For the 5" rear drop the carrier bearing sheet metal box has to be removerd then where this item is removed I need to fab a new mounting spot per bell teck for the carrier bearing. Now the tech line is telling me that they have had issues even with the pinion angle correct set. They have still has issues with this drive line.

Has anyone on this site installed the bell tech 3-5 with the adjustable strut up front on a truck like mine. If so what did you have to do to fix the drive line problem or was it ok with the correct pinion adjustment. A drive line shop told me that there may be about 1 to a 1/2 inch that may need to be cut off the original then rebalanced. Did anyone have to do this when they did there 3-5 drop kit

Thans

Mark

i installed the 3/5 but i have a one piece driveshaft. When you noth the front you are going to have to buy a really hard cutting bit, The lower cross member is really hard metal.

Don't quad cabs have 2 piece drive shafts also? There are quite a few of those on here. So if they haven't said anything then you might be ok.

I helped Stealth install his carrier bearing relocater on his screw 5.5 bed. I believe it was a ground force kit but i could be wrong. we had crappy instructions and the it took several attempts talking out loud before we agreed on how it should go in. He doesnt have any vibrations.

It was a mcgaughy's bracket. I like it better since it has threaded holes instead of clearance holes for the mount.

Hey there I have a super crew dropped 4-6" using djm kit if I was you that's the kit I would use also. With that kit you don't have to notch the crossmember at all just cut the tierods for alignment you will not need to cut your drive shaft or anything you will need the carrier bearing relocator though and wont need any shims if I was going to lower another truck I would use djm again now on the other hand I use the street performance shocks from belltech if u need any other help pm me
