Anyone cut their tierod??????

I used the search and didn't come up with anything. I am going to lower the truck this summer and I am trying to dig up all the info I need. I was wondering if any of you guys cut your tierods? If so, how much? I read this somewhere awhile back and now i can't find it.

I know with DJM 04-08 F150 drops you have to trim the tie rod down some.

I had to completley cut my tie rod ends off where it goes under the frame. Just turned the ends a little bit and rewelded them on.

But mine is bagged.

I had to cut the tie rod ends on the truck with a 4" drop we cout the part that goes into the spindle and the actual threads just make sure you leave the nut on so you can get the end back on after your done. Everything is aligned great other then camber which I hope to fix this spring.

Just cut the tie rods too.. heck of a lot easier. I think i took like an inch off the tie rod end and tie rod. But i had a 3.5 drop.

Djm says on their website to cut 3/8" off the end and tie rod. And the belltech site says to notch the crossmember. I notched the c/m when I installed the springs. So I think I am going to start with 1/2" on the rod and end and go from there.

I'm in the same boat as you again. The alignment shop said I needed to trim them but they got the alignment close. Let me know how this works out for you.

I just trimmed my bumpstop by half on the front and now have an inch of shaft showing on the strut, fixing to go test drive it and see if the ride is any better. I'll post up and let you know. Took about 5 minutes per side to do.

I didnt ask them the numbers but it drives fine, but shakes just a tiny bit when braking. And the inside of the tires are feathering a little. But all stuff I can live with until...

I cut about 1/2" out of both sides on the GFs truck and it came back to spec with the 4" drop out front.
