Driveline vibration with Eibach 2/4

Taking off from dead stop there is a slight vibration for a few seconds. Subtle, but definitely there. One piece DS on this '07. Rear shocks are cheap temporaries– factory shocks were way long.

Any thoughts? The Eibach kit, as some of you know, does NOT come with shims, and I'm having a hard time contacting their tech service.

You may need some shims. I believe these are Belltech 2.5 degree shims after a quick search for the cheapest.

Thanks. I'm going by the installer's shop today and see about giving him some more work, and $$

see if anyone can check your pinion angle using a digital gauge, and can tell you exactly what shims you need.

Truck looks great BTW!

I love your truck bud. How much did the kit and install cost total?

I'm a dumbass. My truck has a 2 piece DS. I finally got through to Eibach–they said they have been aware of this problem, they modified one F150 with the carrier bearing problem several years ago when they were R&D'ing the 2/4 kit. Eibach, for some reason, chose not to make or include this carrier bearing "drop" kit in their Pro kits. The 2 piece DS needs this to eliminate the driveline vibration. Ground Force includes these pieces in their kit. I'm a little bent that Eibach chose not to deal with this issue in their kits, but I'm stuck with it now.

Thanks for the kindly comments. Total– with 2/4 kit, install, cheap "temporary" shorter rear shocks, and alignment was $1050.

That's good to know.

When I bought my Eibach leafs I also bought a McGaughy's carrier bearing relocation bracket for my 2 piece DS. I knew I needed it so I went ahead and got one when I ordered the leafs.

You may still need shims too since the Eibach 4" drop is a leaf/longer shackle drop... With my 4" drop GF leafs I don't need a pinion shim since they use the stock shackle.

Ditto what Stealth said! When I ordered my 2"/3" coils/leafs eibach kit & dampers set - I ordered the GF shackle kit and the McGaughys CB relocator separately to allow for the 4.5/5" drop in the rear to have both on hand just in case the cb relocator on hand. When it comes time to install later this month and I discover that we don't need the CB relocator - it's an easy return; better safe than sorry when it comes to the 2-piece driveshaft - considering the CB relocator added insurance to the install. Picked my CB relocator up for around $54 shipped.

Good info. Thanks.

Is this the part you're referring to- McGaughy's 70014?

That's it and exactly where I purchased mine - not a lot of stores online that carry them.
