Hey guys
I have an 2008 ford screw 5.4 with the 6.5 bed ithas the two piece drive shaft. I have the 22x9.5 +34 wheels and 285 45 22 tires is a 3" in the front with a 5" out back going to give me rubbing issues I do plan to tow with this truck so I will use firestone helper bags in the rear. Any suggestions would be appreciated and yes I do know I have to buy the relocation kit for the carrier barring

my truck was dropped 3-5 and i had 275-40-22's on it and when i came off a bridge or hit a bump just right the front tires would rub the inner fender wells nothing to hurt anything but im afraid with the 285-45-22s your going to have more of a problem cause i switched to 24s with a 295-35-24 and 285-45-22s are the same height as 295-35-24s and i rubbed BAD so i had to switch to a 275-30-24s and no problem rubbing i can bet you $100 bucks with the 285-45's you will have a bad rubbing problem if i was you i would either change tires to the 40 series side wall or keep you tires and just do a 2-4 drop just trying to help you out since i have been in your shoes but if you decide to do the 3-5 drop here is a set of helper bags for made especially for lowered trucks http://www.stylintrucks.com/part.aspx?category%7ccategory_root%7c-30=Suspension&category%7ccat_-30%7c365=Air+Suspension+for+Towing&canned_results_ trigger=&partfamilyid=2167&partid=601727
You're going to rub. If I run over a really good speed bump then my front wheels hit the fenders and at full left steer I get a little bit of rubbing. I have 305/40R22 tires and a 2/4.5 drop.

ok so it looks like the 2"front 4"rear is my best choice groung force seems to be the best for that style of lowering as a kit, but also the most expensive of the bunch any sugestions on 2 4 drop? Eiback maybe ok with the relocation kit for sale on here also. I think 2in springs up front with new 4in leafpacks out bac. I do not want to change the tires too many pot holes in the winter around here

Thanks everone for your input it will save me money in the long run. Weather it be in suspension kit, or body work. Dont need to add that to the table its already full enough.

I live in corona california the GF or an Eiback 2 4 should be fine. If I could find a machine shop that does wheels I think I have enough room on the back side to take another 8 to 10 mm. So that the tire will inset more then I could do the 2.5 beltech up front and the 5 outback with welper bags. for now the front tire sticks out 1/2 inch past the fender

ok guys, got the issues fixed with the tires protruding past the fender. any advice will be greatly appreceated. My thoghts are I have a 285 45 22 on a 22x9.5 I want to use the 3/5 by bell tech there strut +1 to a negative 3 and the 5" flip in the rear the rear will have helper bags. the front will will be 2.5 or 3 with a heavey duty bump stop for the hard down travel to keep the tire from rubbbing on the inter fender shop say's the do them all the time with no issues? Also asked them about the carrier bearing both tech and the shop and they never been an issue and I told the it is a two piece drive shaft, Any thoughts? 2008 SCREWWITH 5.4
With a 285 45 22 tire will i rub if I use a big beefy front bump stop to limit down travel so that it wont rub the inner fender wall. The question for the rear end is with the bell tech 5" flip will I have to relocate the carrrier bearing with mcgauty relocation kit. My truck has the 2 piece drive shaft screw longbed 08. folks on here say yes it has to be relocated. The shop and belltech, tech line says they use a tranny spacer and the flip has the right angle for the driveshaft built into the kit ?
trans spacer is for 1pc drive shafts, the carrier bearing relocation is for 2pc driveshafts
there's a hand full of guys running 305-40-22 without issues. Or course it depends on the backspacing and offset of your wheels, but i think a 45 series tire on a 22 might be too much, but i dont know for sure on that one.
Bump stops can only do so much, getting a heavy duty one that "engages" sooner will just make for a rougher ride. You need to get a high quality shock if you want to control the movement of the truck, or possibly look at air assist kits as well
