Lowered with 305/40/22

I know a lot of you guys are running 305/40s all the way around. Do you have any rubbing issues? If you did what did you do to fix it? If you could respond back with how much you are lowered and if you've had any problems that would be great. We've got some brand new tires at work that I can get fairly cheap, but it looks like it may rub in the front. I'm lowered about 2.5" in the front. Thanks in advance.

It depends on your wheels, not the tire size. I run 305/40-22 on 22"x9.5" Boss 313 wheels with a +40mm offset and a 6.75" backspace. The only time mine rub is when I'm wiping them with a rag.

Good point, Stealth. I think my wheels are 10" wide. I need to measure the offset and backspacing.

Just looked up my wheels with a quick google search. Looks like the only size the black 22" RT-S wheel in 6x135 is 9 1/2 inches wide with +30mm offset and 6 1/2" backspacing.

Interesting. My 50s are not close to rubbing, but my wheels are only 8.5" wide.

^^ yea, and you dont have an 04-08

your rear drop shackle would have nothing to do with rubbing with the wheels turned wither...since it's in the back

I think I'm just gonna go with a 285/35/22 in the front. I can get 2 of those for the price of 1 305/40/22. I'll stick the 305's in the back.

Are you sure that's the look you want?

Are you referring to the staggered setup? I don't think it will look bad. I know this is comparing apples to oranges, but it doesn't seem much different than the Mustangs that run 17x9 with 275/40/17 in the front and 17x10.5 with 315/35/17 in the back.

Or am I looking at this the wrong way? Will it look stupid running the tires like that on a truck?

Big difference

275/40/17 and 315/35/17 almost equal 25.66/25.68
285/35/22 and 305/40/22 not close--- 29.85/31.61

Thanks for clearing that up, drew.

2 of them are already mounted up at work. I'm going to put them on the front tomorrow and see. I just hope I don't have any rubbing issues.

Question........
If you can get 2 285/35/22's for the price of 1 305/40/22 why are you going with the 305's?
