Show me your low profile tonneau covers

I'm finally ready to buy a tonneau cover but was wondering what kits you've had success with. Pics of your setup would be great.

What I'm looking for are paint to match low profile metal covers, something that looks fantastic on dropped trucks. I was eyeballing the following:

Any luck with these? How easy are they to get off and on? Do they leak? Inquiring minds want to know.

snug top is what i recommend. the original and very reliable. 2 locks and low profile...lift up and push forward and it comes off. pretty light yet very durable (i stand on mine sometimes when washing and drying the top of the truck) and they also come carpeted underneath. instead of fiberglass like others....there are so many tonneau cover mfgs out there..do some research but i recommend snug top.

x2! I believe the SnugTop or a *******'s top is probably the best low profile top out there. I have a ARE, not the lowest profile, but I like it. I had a problem with the paint finish flaking and they removed it and repainted it. I don't have a local SnugTop or *******'s dealer. - Og

Good info! Thanks for the tips so far guys.

I do like the look of the SL model as it covers the runners, but I'm not sure about the height of the cover.

As far the chipping/peeling on the snugtops. Are you leaving your trucks outside most of the time?Mine's a real garage queen and it only goes out twice a week for a few hours at a time. So I would think the paint should last a long, long time.

It looks like the snugtop also carries a Snuglid F2, which is a little more "sporty" (not sure if I like it). Any luck with these?

Well, I went down to the local snuglid dealer today and I must say I was really disappointed.

Their covers were WAY expensive ($1700+ for a painted fiberglass one - what are they smoking???). They had a black one in stock and it had blemishes in the paint, something you'd see on fiberglass. That's not a good sign all things considered. And it was a little too rounded for my taste.

I believe I'm going to try an LT Sport Cover for a few reasons:
  1. It's aluminum like our hoods (I think paint stays on aluminum better)
  2. It's less expensive ($1260 PTM with shipping)
  3. The locks are mounted inside
  4. It appears to be lighter, < 60 lbs
  5. It's lower profile than any other cover

Thanks again everyone! I'll post pics up once the cover is installed.

aluminum will dent- fiberglass will not. that's the advantage to fiberglass.

imho, i would've paid the extra money for the snuglid...that lt doesn't cover the bedcaps; looks a little "stuck on" if you ask me.

Quite the contrary. I feel that the wrapping covers stick out too far beyond the bed. With the snuglid, it tries too hard to hide the bedcaps instead of complementing the truck like a stock installation would. This to me looks like something the factory would make:

With black on black, it should look AOK. I'll get pics up once the install is done.

I paid $950 for my ARE LSII tonneau installed. I like the fact that it covers the entire bed, including over the bed caps. Helps keep them from fading. The LT is not quite my taste, but to each his own. - Og

Definitely like the LT Sport Cover. To each their own, but I really like how that looks. Damn good price directly off their site too. I'm not a fan of any of the ones that stick off the height of the bed at all and really don't like them hanging over the edge. Just my opinion

I like having the bed rails painted because it means it will be water tight

Mines PTM, unfortunately its PTM to someone else's truck

Mine has some paint chipping on it, but i believe it has to do with how the original owner had it stored in his garage for about a year after he took it off of his truck.
