Seems like a lot of trouble. If you're going to break the tires/wheels down to remove the TPMS sensors anyway, spend that PVC, NOS sticker, skull valve cap and paint money on new bands and transfer the sensors to the new wheels. Ford dealer reprogrammed mine for free and my TPMS works as it suppose to. IMHO. - Og
So now you have that thing rolling around your truck? Great. So..Do you fill that thing with 35lbs of pressure? So what are the odds of that thing exploding and killing everybody in my truck?
Freak accident. Kid killed by TPMS bomb.

I like the spare tire idea.
you can't just strap them to the spare, they actually have to be "submerged" in the pressure.
Looks like it would work just fine.
Not sure how the system works on fords, but Land Rovers actually know which corner is which, and will relearn the system based on where the signals are coming from, so in that case it might freak out if all the signals are coming from the trunk of the car.....

The only ones that read each will are scharder valves and they are more expensive. We all know how cheap ford can be

I deal with this crap everyday

And someones tried this before. I don't think it works on our truck due to the sensor not being in motion.. run a search you'll find something.
My light is hardly ever on though, it usually takes a half hour of driving to turn my light on.

That thread is by a friend of mine. I helped him build that. That is my ugly mug in the first pic. Still works good. He had bought some forged Volk wheels and they would not accept the Lexus TMPS. I just made another last week for a friends truck. I'm in the irrigation business so I had plenty of PVC laying around.

Ford trucks have tpms bands that are around the wheel the sensors clip to. Unlike chevy trucks and others the sensor is cliped to the valve stem. And if your spare tire is at the correct psi, which it should be, a flat spare is useless, it will not set them off. Yes you would have to take it to a tire shop and get them to do it, but whats 15-20 for a dismount and mount to solve the problem.
This is what all the 4wd ships in se fla do for fords. I have also heard of the tpms pipe, but most of those guys have chevys or yotas that dont have bands. Even if you have to buy a band, they are cheap. I work for a wholesale tire and wheel distributor and sell them often, so i cant tell you what they cost to protect my customers, but if you pay more then 30$ its too much.

i was told by the dealer, that the sensors turn on and off by motion?
nope, it cannot be turned off.
i just took apart the cluster, put a tiny piece of black electrical tape on the backside of the gauge applique so the light don't shine through, 1 cent fix and no more damn orange light

We put wheels on my Wife H3 yesturday. Stockers have the sensors in them ( if psi is off by 2 pounds the light comes on )...so they where a pain. NO light or warning issues with the new wheels and no sensors being in them....maybe the Hummers are diff than our trucks????
