Nitrous ???

Ive got about 38,000 miles on a stock 5.4 and am thinking about going on the bottle. I hear that a jump of 100 hp is "safe" .... is that true ? Anyone out there using a system that they feel good about recommending ? How well do the 5.4's hold up with a little gas ?... this is my first one.

Thanks !

scared to have the extra power all the time? the bottle never runs out on a supercharger or turbo

seriously, try the engine thread.

the guys who spray thier 2 valves seem to hurt pistons... I wouldn't push more than a 50 shot

Yeah but nitrous is cheap.

A decent supercharger kit is around 5000 bucks, while a wet shot nitrous kit with a decent sized bottle is literally thousands cheaper.
Although superchargers are thousands of times more awesome.

It definitely can be done, but you're going to need a good tune to go with it.

I agree with tarajerame that it's high maintenance. You can get a good deal on superchargers now days, might be worth looking into.

First off thanks for the input ....

Never considered a huffer just because of the cost , I'll start investigating. The giggle gas seemed like a good way to keep some fuel mileage and get cheap safe horses.

The tech guys at NOS recommended a single fog wet system (# 05135NOS) which has 75/100/125 hp.

I will spend a little more time in the engine forum area I hadn't heard about the valve problem before.

As far as gearing I have a set of small Mickey ET's on 15's for the track, that should help.

B.T.W. does anyone know what RPM the rev limiter is set for on 5.4's ?

Thanks again for the responses.

Blaise

15's are not going to fit on the NBS with the brake configurations nor will 16's but weld makes a 17'' wheel and nitto makes a good drag radial
