Front coil and shock question

Im dying to drop my truck and need some quick info on it first. The plan is getting 2" drop coils for the front. Are people buying new front shocks or using the stock ones? I don't want a crappy ride so if i do need shocks, what kind should I go with? Thanks in advance

I'm using stock shocks with GF 2" coils up front. Bilsteins will break out teeth from what I've heard.

Been riding around on stock front shocks and 2" eibach coils for about 5 months now. Imo it rides and handles great, although im sure there are replacements that will out perform this setup. Either way you will be fine using stock shocks and drop coils.

absolutly not, 2wd bilstien shocks ride very comfortable with 2 inch drop coils.

from someone whos had experience with everything (3" drop coils, 3.5" LCA's and then onto airbags..)

bag it.

in all seriousness though, you'll get a better ride, in fact, same as stock if you go with LCA's. the only downside is the price. the drop coils are cheaper, but they seem to stiffen up the ride a little bit (depending on 2" or 3")

alright.. thank you every one for the advice. Due to me being a teenager in basketball season with little money, I'm just going to use 2" drop coils with stock shocks. Hopefully I can get at least 5 months out of them then eventually upgrade. One last Question. What am I looking to pay for labor on fron coils? Once again thanks.

I paid my mechanic 100 bucks to do my front

do you have a 2wd or 4wd... cause 2" coils on 4wd shocks rides horrible

I highly recommend the eibach 2/3 drop with bilstein shocks up front and monotube drop shocks out back

I have a 2WD and it has McGaughy's 2" drop springs in the front using the stock shocks. It rides fine, I don't have any complaints, the backend is what bothers me with occoasinally bottoming out. The front end on mine handles and rides just fine, a little stiffer than stock but I like a bit more sporty/stiff feel.
