Really confused on lowering

I am trying to get this whole lowering thing but the more I read the more I get confused. 2" shackles will lower the rear and level it out. A 2/4 drop is supposed to lower and give a level stance. So why does the 2/3 Roush kit say it gives it a level stance too. And also I see some people running a 2/5 drop. So is it a 2/3, 2/4 or 2/5 to make the front and rear level???

I have equivlant to a 2/5 drop using eibach 3" leafs and 2" gf shackles and the body does sit level. When you are riding down the road, your view looking outside doesnt seem like it is. Lets say looking at a sidewalk against the bottom window like, it will look as if it is still raked slightly. But, it sure is level on the outside. Pics are in the gallery if you feel like looking.

It's all really personal preference and what your definition of level is.

From what I have seen, if you drop the rear around 2 in. you'll be pretty level, with a couple degrees of rake, which looks good. But if you go farther than 2 in. it looks to me like the bed starts sagging (may not be the case) and it sits below level. If you're not really sure what to do spend lots of time reasearching what drops are avialable and in what increments. If still aren't sure after that, buy the drop as components and see how you like it as you lower it, it might cost a little more, or it might be cheaper, but you'll be happier not buying something you don't like. I don't know about the newer F-150s, but I found a place with adjustable shackles and hangers, that'll be cheaper than buying a complete kit for me, even with buying spindles for the front. Just keep asking questions, you're bound to get them answered eventually.

2" shackles drop about 1.5" of total effective drop.

I have a 2/5 equivelent in parts and am sitting about 2.5/4.5

the roush 2/3 is close to level with a slight rake to it, and its got a little lean to it, more of a sporty look then lowered, level and clean

I have mine lowered 2" in the front and what turned out to be a 5.5" in the back (was supposed to be 4.5" drop), but with my air assist kit in the rear I can adjust the back from 3.5" to 5.5", and about 4.5" drop in the back is level for me.

Here's my build log for more info and lots of pictures:

I'm running beltech 3" leafs and I would recomend staying away from them and running eibach. I'm now experiencing BAD leaf sag and negative arc with the bell tech

I think it looks perfect. I'm hoping mine looks that good when I finally end up lowering my 05 supercrew.

It'll happen next year. I'll start with January.

Really though, I may get to work the 3 days after Christmas for triple time pay, and that will go a long way towards the $750-$800 worth of eibach lowering gear I'm eyeballing. A 2/4 drop kit and dampers at the corners. The hardest thing is I'd have to whack off the carrier bearing mount and add a bracket to relocate the bearing. The rest would be easy, with the right helper.
