Did you have to use the carrier bearing relocator? I've got an '07 Super cab and my installer called today and told me he didn't use the relocator and that the truck drives fine, so there's no need to move the CB. I was told the 2 piece shaft required the locator. What say you??

I didn't use mine either. I did need to remove the spacer between the bearing and the crossmember because I had a very slight low speed vibration after lowering it. After removing the spacer I no longer had the low speed vibe. Do the scab's come w/ a 2 piece drive shaft? I didn't think they did, but I could be wrong.

PenRod,

I met you today at Backyard Burgers. Nice truck you have.

I'm looking over the instructions for putting in the spacer for the Ground Force kit. It involves cutting the stock spacer off with a cut-off wheel or similar. Then bolt the new spacer onto it.

I've got a sawzall, but no cut-off wheel. My truck has a 1-piece driveshaft, so I didn't have to mess with that.

I'd bet that Ray's alignment said it didn't need it because they didn't want to fool with it.

I'd take it back to Ray's, slip em a $20 and tell em' to finish.

I'll be busy Saturday- Monday. I *should* be free on tuesday. Call me sometime Sunday or monday afternoon and we'll talk about it.

I told you I can do it. Money is no object.. I'm not looking to get any from you.

Gimme a call.. leave a message if I don't answer.

KHendrix

I knew I'd seen that truck somewhere on here before, small world huh. Nice truck by the way. I've basically washed my hands of Ray's, lied about the CB being fine, the front sway being the wrong one and didn't even attempt to install the helper bags. They basically just threw all the unused parts into what ever box was handy, slid 'em in the bed and told me to come get it. Scared the sh*t out of the tail gate and left side bed fender also. I was shocked when I got home and saw the damage. He did an excellent job of installing the Hotchkis/Bilstein TVS on my Dakota a couple years ago and I was expecting the same kind of job on the Ford. I'll give you a call Sun or Mon and talk. If needed I'm pretty sure I can get the local garage to let us use their rack and tools, not sure if they've got a cut-off wheel though. The truck spring joint down from Wally world said they'd install the helper bags for me next week so atleast that's covered. Take care.

Just reread GB150's post and I'd be willing to bet that removing the spacer would fix my problem also. Mine only vibrates at low speed, stops at around 20-25. I bet the guy's at Ray's didn't remove it and it's the FIRST task listed on the install instructions. Let's try that first and see what happens.

Just checked out your gallery, da*n your supercharged. I gotta check that out!!

Yeah, I installed the blower a couple weeks ago. Very nice blower kit BTW.

I went to Rays last year when I installed my lowering kit. I didnt want to rent a spring compressor so I checked a few places. All I had to do was swap out the factory front springs....
Rays, and that place just east of Wally World said "That can't be done without buying new struts".. WTF no.. I'll do it myself. And I did.

Most places around here only believe in lifting the truck in the air... not bringing it closer to mother earth. If you even mention droping it down... that's blasphemy to most places around here.

Gimme a call Sunday afternoon.. I will be able to talk, but my buddy and I will be finishing up the tractions bars on my truck Sunday night. Can't break another rear end again!

Edit: If by chance you check this by tomorow (Saturday) before 11, I'll be in your area. I gotta go pick up some scuba gear early. Maybe I can slide by your place. I won't be in my trucks, but I can slide by.. I'll take my tools though just in case. Call me if you are up.

going to Murray. Gotta meat someone by 9 and I'll be coming right back.
