Question Steeda Lowering Kit?

Has anyone ever used the Steeda 2/4 lowering kit? If so how does it perform? I see that they have it on their company truck, and it has a very slight rake to it still, which is what I am looking for since I haul my boat every now and again. If I dont use the Steeda kit, what other companys offer a 2/4 drop for around the same price as Steeda ($400)
Thanks
Eric

They show the eibach lowering set up 2" front and 2.5" back? how they get 2.5 in the back IDK but if you get the springs and the 2" shackles you've got a 2/2 like me but to drop 4" in the rear you need leaf springs or take out a leaf from the pack and you have the same set up as ground force uses that are stamped with a ford part number BTW lights look good. now you really need to black out those bumpers

In their catalog they offer a 2/4 kit, and in the new Ford Performance Trucks mag their project Red Thunder uses the 2/4 kit as well

i have the groundforce 9944 and it doesnt take a leaf out it adds hangers to the stock location to bring the truck down with a set of their own leafs to somewhat keep the load capacity and stiffen up the rear. i caught hell taking the tank off to install the bolt for the hanger. if it was that easy to just take out a leaf i would have done it

If I were to go with the GF 9944 I would sacrifice that bolt by cutting it off and insert another one the other direction.

i dropped the tank when i did it. didnt want to deal with the bolt getting messed up and not being able to get it out. plus i changed the fuel pump since i was taking the pump down getting ready for the supercharger. i have heard some horror stories trying to cut the bolt but i do have an extra one because i was going to try to cut it at first

Wanna bet? I tried cutting that bolt w/ a sawzall. I spent about 30 minutes and 2 or 3 blades and barely made any progress. I ended up just dropping the tank. Then I replaced the bolt with a new bolt since I had partially cut the original.

I stand corrected. I bet it can still be done somehow though. Maybe full blast with the sawzall on the bolt isn't the way to go, maybe some cutting fluid and less speed and more pressure would get the job done. Must be some nasty hardened steel bolt in there.

So, If I install the GF 2" shackle and delete a leaf from the factory spring set, I'll get a 4" drop in the rear? Which leaf do I remove? And how many leafs are in the GF Springs? Will doing this cause any problems in setting the pinion angle?

I'm waiting on my 2.5" drop Control arms and would like to try the said above. I've had the 2" GF shackles for a while now thinking I was going to just level my ride, but have oppted to lower it 2.5/4" maybe 5"

I'd appriciate any info, Thanks!

Same here. I went through 2 blades and said "To hell with this!" and dropped the tank.

Those bolts are knarly!

I'm looking for pictures of supercrews with the 9944 kit and reviews of the ride quality/harshness. I like the Cadillac ride of my truck with 17" pillow soft Michelins. When I go with bigger wheels, I will keep a little taller tire to retain some ride quality but I know it will be a firmer ride. I have a cobra with a firm suspension so a "performance" ride is not what I'm looking for. I want a better quality ride than coils and shackles. The 9944 kit is a little cheaper than the Roush complete kit. Anyone have experience with both?
