Question chevy ss?

ive got a friend who is really stuck on chevys, and ill give him that his old offroader with a bored 350, nine inches of lift, and 38 1/2" tires was a badass ride, i dont think this new chevy ss pickup is at all. im just wondering what the specs are for this truck, how fast it goes, etc. ive heard it cant even compare with a lightning but id love to hear it from someone else. i know he was really happy when he heard about a truck that could compete with a ford, but ive heard that theyre alot slower than the lightnings.

after all, its First On Race Day, isnt it?

325 HP, 385 TQ and AWD w/ extended cab.

0-60 is something like 6.6 sec
1/4 is about 15.1

Not bad, but nowhere near fast for a street truck, and not even in the L's ballpark.

The SS is much slower than the Lightning, but it was never meant to compete with it. That being said, they shouldn't have called it a SS. THe SS name alone makes you want to think its up against the L but Chevy wasn't trying to do that. What the SS does is gives you an all around truck. A truck that does most things well. Its not a fast truck, but it has enough power to get out of its own way, it can haul things and tow things all the while looking sporty and in leather comfort.
Now personally I think its a nice truck, but IMO it will fail because of the use of the SS name plate and the very large price tag. JMHO

If I was going to buy a chevy, i'd get an SS, I like the way they look, but seeing that I'm never going to buy a chevy I'll just have to race one in my truck. If I beat the SS i'd be happy, but I ain't counting on it.

The thing with the old SSs is that they were not hyper motors, only around 250hp, but they had 400ft.lbs around 2k
