Question Proper Method of Carpeting a Sub Box?

What is the correct method to carpet a box? I am confused as to how you keep the edges clean. Do you do one side of the box at a time?

box carpeting

the best way is to use adhesive (usually sprayed on or rolled onto the box and carpet. Then wrap the box around the largest section (probably leaving overhang on your sides of your box) then you cut strait down the corner edge of the pieces of the overhanging carpet down to the box so that you can fold it down (kinda like you fold the 4 flaps on a cardboard box to stay overlapping each other and closed) then lastly you take a sharp box knife or razor and just cut a 45 degree slash diagonal across the box cutting through both layers of carpet that are folded down and when you are done cutting your 45 degree cut pull up the carpet and take out the scrap ends and both edges of carpet will lay back down and line up perfectly! and it doesn't matter if your cut is exactly straight.
