'03 S'crew rear speaker problem

I am getting almost no sound out of my rear speakers. They are putting out full range hz wise, but the decibel level is a lot less than half. I have yet to test them w/ a db meter, but I will before I bring it back to Ford. Has anybody else run into the same problem?? Fill me in folks, what do I need to do, replace the HU or the speakers? Both?

Get rid of the factory speakers

Get yourself some good aftermarket replacement speakers (all four). Even with the stock headunit, your sound will improve tremendously.

There are lots of on-line discount car stereo websites (search through this forum as there are too many to list here). Try crutchfield.com to see what fits your Screw. Although all speakers in the Screws are 6x8's/5x7's, you may have to get different ones for the front and back due to different mounting depths.

Crutchfield tends to be a bit more spendy than other deep discount websites, but their service is top-notch and they'll include extras like wiring harnesses, etc. for free.

Good luck!
