Question Which is + and which is - ?

Sorry I see a post already answered my question.

A simple question- what is the color code of the door speaker wires? I have a 1998 standard cab 150 - in the process of putting in two Alpine speakers. Pulled off the right side panel, removed the oem speaker, then I realized I didn't have a clue as to which wire was postive and which one was negative.

Could anyone give me the color code for these wires? I assume that the left door is the same - haven't pulled that panel yet.

Thanks

Or also, the easiest way to tell is to take a small 1.5volt battery a AA or AAA and run a wire from the pos on the battery to one side of the speaker and the neg to the other, then switch it around. Which ever way the cone moves out, is the pos/neg connection, if it moves inward, just reverse it.

That concept of using a battery to check polarity is pretty cool. Just one question, when you say out, is that out towards the speaker cage or outward towards the direction the speaker is facing?

When the postitive and negative are connected correctly, the cone moves out (toward the front of the sub), when they are backwards, the cone moves in towards the spider and basket.
