Installing Subwoofers

I drive a '97 F-150 extended cab and have two 12' subwoofers. Currently I have the backseat folded down with the speakers and amp sitting on top. As you can tell this cuts down on my seating space which I sometimes need. I would like to place my subs under the seat to get my seats back, I can take care of the amp. I'm not concerned about using both subs, I would be fine with having just one however I would like to use both if possible. Is it possible to fit my subs or a sub under the back seat. Any feedback, instructions, and pictures would be greatly appreciated. Thank you

Check out www.subbox.net you can get a pre-fab box to fit under your rear seat (you will have to install a seat lift kit).

Does downfire affect the sound quality? Is downfire the only option?

Downfire is the only option unless you want to remove the rear seat. I have heard a couple downfiring boxes in ex-cabs and they sound pretty nice.

You can use both 12s in a down firing box. I know a guy that has it like that. Go to a good stereo shop and get them to build you a box.
