QUESTION 1-12" or 2-10"

OK, i'm building a box (sealed) for my 2000 4x4 standerd cab.
the box can ether have 2 - .75 cu ft or 1 - 1.5 cu ft
would one 12 sound better then 2 10's?

Subs i'm getting are:

jensen xs1010 - 10" 450w peak 150w RMS
needing .75 (best bass performance - sealed)

(found for $30 each)

or jensen xs1212 - 12" 525w peak 175 RMS
needing 1.25 (best bass performance - sealed)

(found for $40 each)

witch would sound better?
looking for more thump, not so much LOUD.
box is a front facing sealed

ALSO

what amp would be good??
was looking at Bestbuy the other day.
760w 2 channel pioneer for $170 (gm-x962)

ok it gets into some stuff i'm not really sure on.
125w x2 (4 ohm) comtinues
190w x2 (2 ohm) continues

250w x2 (4 ohm) max
760w x1 (4 ohm) max

built in crossover.

would this be good? over kill?

any help would be great!!

I've got a better solution for you for the less $$$.

Amp:
Autotek SS 350.2 ($139)
http://www.thezeb.com/caraudio/autotek.html

Subs:
Phoenix Gold QXE 10's ($80 for both)
http://www.justwoofers.com/

I guarantee this will sound much better.

John

2 10s will get louder than 1 12 with the same power, so generally speaking, if volume is the issue, 2 10s would be better. 12s can hit lower frequencies than 10s (generally speaking) but a good quality 10 will do fine with any frequencies that the human ear can hear.

I have one 12 but...

I have decided to go to a Thunderform with two tens. I would run two 12's but there is just not enough space imo. I have already bought a new amp (Kicker ZR360) to drive (someday) Kicker CompVR 10's cause they no longer make the Kicker XPL.

my opinion is 1 12'' sub hooked up with the right amp will kick alot harder then 2 10''s. But since us truck guys have limited space behind the seat it is best to run 2 or more speakers because of the style box we need. Always get a 4 ohm amp. For a better thump bridge the amp for sure. I have my system hooked up pretty nice considering I am only using a 150W amp bridged. I have 2 12''s and 2 6 1/2''s behind the seat giving the "thumping" while I removed the factory dash speaker with a panasonic 6x9'' and 2 sony explode 5''s in the doors giving the sound. I am using a nice 40x4 Pyle PLus headunit and a factory equalizer I got from a Eagle which is hooked up to my door and dash speakers.

Simply not possible, 2 10s will push more air space than one twelve ( assuming that all the subs in question have the same efficiencey and the amp is seeing the same ohm load ) the name of the game is pressurization of a given air space, this is how you get sound in the first place, therefore if you can push more air, you can get more volume.
