new guy needs help!

I just bought a new 2002 F150 supercab the other day. I am now looking to install my sound system into the new truck. I know i need a new box for my subs and from looking on the message boards here have decided on a box from subbox.net. my guestion is if the box takes up the space under the rear flip up seat where have some of you installed your amps? i have the captians chairs and i dont think my amp will fit under either of them. i would like some of your ideas, thank you and hope you all had a great 4th of JULY.

I've got 2 amps and put them both under the smaller rear seat (The one that doesn't flip up). I had one mounted to the floor and the other mounted to the seat's support brackets so that it is above the other amp. Works great, hope this helps.

My amp is fairly large and would not fit under any of the front seats either. I have mine mounted to the back center wall of the cab, behine the seat back. Just took some minor cutting on the seatback and I have a nearly stealth installation - you can see the subbox under the drivers side rear seat with the doors open.

I don't have any pictures, but I got the idea from someone on here or FTW site. He posted pictures and it works

I went with a custome fiberglass enclosure behind the seats to house 2x kicker 12L7's. They are powered by a kicker KX 1200.1(1200watt rms) amp which is mounted under the rear seat on the drivers side (its a huge amp). I have focal seperates in the doors powered by a KX300.4(75 watt x4 RMS) which fits nicely in the center console under the removable tray.

SubBox.net

Well I have been reading up on SubBox.net and your gonna be very limited as to what Subwoofers your gonna be able to put in there with out modification, the box is VERY shallow for a 10. Check out JL Audio, they have custom subwoofer enclosures, and they also sell the Vantage Box which is a little cheaper. You can also check out the MTX website they sell the ThunderForms. Some come pre loaded with an amp too. I personally have the Vantage box with 2 JL 8IB4 in there. but if you get the JL 8w3's they will hit like most 10's I dunno if mounting an amp behind the seat is a good idea... may get tooooo hot and cause it to fail... I personally mounted my amp under the seat directly behind the drivers seat. Hopefully this helps you out..

I also installed Infinity Reference 5X7s in the doors and the back speakers too. Sounds great!! nice and clear..
