Mounting subs to enclosure

What did you all mount your subs to the enclosure with?
I just used coarse thread drywall screws but since they have countersunk heads I am contemplating removing them and mounting them another way. I have seen different web sites as well as the book, "The Car Stereo Cookbook" say to mount the speakers with T-nuts and socket head cap screws or machine screws. The only problem with T-nuts is that they are too big to fit in the small space between the mounting hole and the speaker cutout opening in the box. I asked Polk about it and was told to look for some smaller threaded inserts to put into the box and then use the machine screws.
Anybody using something like this that they would recommend?

Mike

Thumbs up Drywall

Since I installed my first set of MTX road thunders in my 1987 mazda pickup low-rider years ago, I have always used drywall screws. Just my .02

drywall screws work well once but if you ever take the speakers back out your screwed ...heh heh...trust me find a way to use the t nuts you can get a tighter fit with them ..it's real easy to strip the hole with drywall screws..
