2 JL 10w6's ???

Ok i have a question about this. I have done the math on the 10w6's and they seem to have enough air space and depth to fit in the subbox.net box for an f-150 with fold up rears. However i was wondering if anyone out the has done this config (without using a lift kit for the seat) or not. Also how many watts will i need to push these subs they run 300 watts rms each so i know i will need at least 600 watts of clean power any help on this topic is much appreciated. thanks

I recommend either rockford fosgate or PPI amps, the fosgates are cheaper and they rock. Don't be fooled by the rating on the rockford amps, they under rate them for competition reasons. For example my punch 60, is rated at 30X2 but in reality it is pushing about 60X2 and in mono it pounds the hell out of my solobaric 12" which usually requires high wattage. Basically check out the rockford amps and decide what you can afford. I'm not sure where you get the 600watts that you need but that is way too much.

isnt ppi out of business? and also i get it from each sub needing 300 watts of constant power so i multiplied by 2 and got 600 im not really familiar with amp ratings and if you were trying to push this much power what RF amp would you get? i have been looking at the 700 x 2

PPI is not out of business. They, along with Orion and ADS were bought up by DEI. They are still going strong only now they have some money behind them.

Sorry, but I have to disagree with the rockford amps. Nothing personal. They are underrated slighlty, but not by much.

600 watts is a lot of juice, but the 10w6's will handle that and more. I have run 1300 watts on three at 1ohm. They handled it fine and asked for more!. Look into the JBL 600.1. Wire the 2subs parrallel - parrallel giving the amp a 1.5 ohm load. This will give you right around 700 watts or so. Keep the gain a little lower and the power will not be a problem. Your hearing might though! The JL subs don't NEED that much, but can handle that much. You could run them with a JBL 300.1 about 350 watts and be very loud, but for the price dif between the 2, its worth the extra. Check out scala1 on e-bay. Great prices and all new equipment.

I would also use about a 1/2 pound of stuffing in the boxes. Seemed to help in a friends subbox.net box.

What is the stuffing you are referring to? I've been told fiber glass stuffed into a sealed box helps a lot. Thanks.

I would not use fiberglass. Acoustastuff (availble thru Crutchfield and PartsExpress.com). Helps to reduce standing waves, especially in a sealed box. Experiment with the amount you use to see what sounds best. Apply it to all walls of the box, except where the sub is mounted. Use a stapler or hot glue to attach.

Just use polly fill from a fabric store they use it to stuff pillows and things should work just as good and then you have no shipping (its probably cheaper also) =]

Thanks for the advice Ascii and Isaiah. I didn't mean to stray from the topic too much.
