parking brake & kickpods

I would like to install a custom kickpanel with a 4" mid and tweeter. My truck is on order. Is there enough clearance on the drivers side. Will the parking brake or clutch pedal get in the way? Also how far is the kickpanel from the 6x8 hole in the door?

thx

Q-Forms

I have the Q-forms kickpanel replacements. I actually had a pair of Polk 5x7's in the doors and switched to Audiobahn 6.5" components in the kickpanels. The sound is much better, and the stage is higher. That, and I didn't have to cut or otherwise modify anything in the truck to get the components in! The parking brake still goes all the way back. Sorry, the pic here is on the passenger side, don't have one (yet) of the driver's side.

that looks good thanks for the pic, I thought Qforms only took a 5.25" speaker there must be a bigger model

I didn't buy mine online, got them through Best B*Y. Can't remember the price, but one of the installers cut out the speakers from the template for me for free.

I'll check on the packaging and see if there's a URL for it though.

One note concerning speaker size. A LOT of brands are oversized in the 6.5" category. The package told me that they could hold 6.18" speakers, but the Audiobahn's I've got in there are exactly 6.5".
The only MB Quarts I could get to fit were the Q series, and those are outrageously priced. Kenwoods, Alpines, Image Dynamics and a slew of others fit in ok.

AI Research

The Q-Forms are manufactured by AI Research.
Incidentally, my sub box is made by the same group.

You're going to need Flash to get through this....which is one of the biggest reasons I hunted around for a book or REAL display. Best B*Y had a flip-book, which was cool. But they also had pictures in their installation bay of an install of these...sold me.

I was wanting to fabricate fiberglass pods, but it looks like the only way to do that would be to remove the factory panel all together. Has anyone installed custom kick pods?
