Question Subwoofer Buzz

Hi, I have a Rockford Fosgate Punch Z subwoofer in a Q-Logic box powered by a Jenson amp. I got all of it this past Christmas and have never run it hard, just enough to get the added bass. I don't run it so that the people insided their houses know I'm coming. I now have buzzing coming from the subwoofer and wander if that is just something that subwoofers commonly do? Is there a quick cheap simple fix. Or is my woofer blown?

Does it buzz continuously, or only when playing? Does it change intensity relative to volume or engine RPM?

It's only with the punchy bass beats and it gets worse as you turn the volume up. It seems to do fine with bass notes like a bass guitar but the problem is with the punch bass drums.

If its only buzzing on the heavy beats, there a cahnce its blown. Maybe not though. The quality of your sub is considerably higher than that of your amp. Check all the speaker wire connections. If something is lose, it may be causing static when the current draw is high. Also try adjusting the gain of your amp. You may need to make more power available to it by bumping the gain up a bit. Its really quite hard to say without hearing it, and if you take it to a pro shop, they'll tell you its blown just to get you to buy another.
