Cool Ordered the stealthbox

Well, I ordered the JL stealthbox for the F-150 today. I have the new style center console that takes their new design box. My buddy at the stereo shop told me that they sound great (actually he said they sound ****** retarded, he is an easterner). He said availability was not a problem and I should have it in a week or so.

The bro deal price was $397. I'm going to power it with the sub channels on my PPI Ax606.2 amp. If that's not enough I'll drop in the A.600 instead.

Does anybody have one of these already installed? If so, how is the sound? I figure the single 10W3 should be fine for the regular cab truck.

does your truck have 60/40 split bench seats, or buckets? the pics on the JL site show the ones for bucket seats only. i have a 2001 Sport regular cab and i can't get one of those stealthboxes. maybe you have different seats

Mine has buckets. I found them more comfortable than the 60/40 split. The center conole I have is identical to the one in the picture for the stealthbox I ordered (the KR one).

I think your only solution is a box behind the seat, but you will have to remove the storage unit.

I have a 2002 King Ranch- and I've been having a hell of a time trying to find a sub that fits in this truck. Finally- Stealthbox has an answer to my problems.

My main concern is... I've never heard of JL audio- and I want to know if their subs perform as well as the big names: Fosgate, Polk, etc... I just wanted to buy a box and drop my own sub into it- however- it looks like I don't have this option with this company.

Anyone have a JL sub? how do they compair? By the way- what does "holds a 10w3-D6 sub" mean? What does each number represent? Does this mean a 10" sub?

Thanks for the help.

RotGutBottom,

I think most would agree that JL is building the best subs out there. Not all, but most. They have been for a long time, which surprises me that you have never heard of them. They are pricey, but I think, well worth it. Go to their website @ JLAudio.com and check out what they have to offer. I also ordered a center console stealthbox for my 2001 supercab and should arrive tomorrow. However, I was unable to get the sweet deal that you got, BroncoAZ. Who hooked you up with that price? I had to haggle my dealer down to $500 from the $550 retail price. Nobody around here will do any better. $397 sounds a whole lot better. I feel a sharp stabbing pain in my back side!

Clem,

An old childhood friend who now manages a car audio shop hooked me up wih that price. He also hooked me up with some killer Piaa stuff (see pic).

For many years I scored my equipment - at an excellent discount -from a good friend who owned an authorized JL dealership. He recently closed shop after fifteen years. I guess I shouldn't complain about paying retail - maybe it's just my turn.

Just thought I'd let you know that I purchased the twin 8's jl that go in under my 98 x-tended cab ford....Sounds really good in the truck crack the windows and it sounds a little better...tight bass with a punch. If your looking for how your system sounds (clarity wise) in the truck It's great!!! If your looking for earth shattering bass that wakes your neighbors than you better look somewhere else. Hope This Helps BroncoAZ
