Who has subs under the backseat?
Ok, i'm trying to figure out how to fit 1 10" sub under the back seat of a '98 S/C. Has anyone built their own custom box? I've seen places that make boxes that will fit 2 10" subs, but it also takes up all the floor space under the backseat also. I like to have some space under there for my toolbox and other stuff.
It takes up the room under the passenger side and center hump but the driver side is open. I mounted one of my amps under the driver side back seat so I still don't have any room under my back seat. I had to put the other amp under my driver side front seat. The sub box only has 2 8" subs but it sounds really good. IMO.

Q-Logic
I put a Q-Logic box under my backseat. Holds a dual-voice-coil 10" sub....with a good amp it'll sound like two subs are back there!
You can check my sub box and sub out here.

I have a custom built sub box that fits under the rear drivers side. The passengers side looks like a sub box but the top comes off and it has my amp in it. I recently sold the truck and bought a 2001 PSD but I still have the stereo equipment. In interested let me know. I have the pics posted under another thread called "sub under driver side rear". Take a look and let me know what you think. They worked great and the single 10" sub hits fairly hard. Thanks

I got a custom made box here in town that fits a 10" under the passenger side of the back seat. The sub fires upwards but I haven't had any problems yet. If I have the stereo really cranked it will throw hard enough where I can hear the seat rattle a bit. I mounted my amp under the back seat on the drivers side and still have enough room to stow whatever I need to back there. I'm thinking of raising it up a bit yet though just to decrease the seat rattle.
I built one that fits under a Supercab
It is only my prototype; but, take a look. It has just under .6cf with one 10". Whadya think? It still needs to be carpeted. It actually hits alot deeper than I thought it would. It is driven by a Profile Baja 300w bridged amp

I think I am the pioneer here, I might be wrong but I have never seen anyone with subs in the older model trucks (pre 97) except for me I raised the seat with the LMI kit and i built a box with roughly .7cf of air and it holds 2 8" JLW3s I'll get some pics as soon as I can only thing aboutit is that there is a heta sheild between my catalytic converter and the floor of the truck and the subs hit so hard that they were making it rattle but i jamed some stuff in there and it is fine now
See my single 12" here: https://www.f150online.com/forums/sh...5&pagenumber=5 (third or fourth post down)
Mind you it takes the floor space behind the driver as well, but I still have 2/3 of the rear seat fold-down capability which is good enough for me. 1.1cu.ft box. My amp is mounted under the 2/3 flip down section but in there tight enough so that when the seat folds down the cushion has enough room to go under the seat.
If you have a single 10" sub you can always build a box similar to mine but only take up part of the floor space behind the driver's seat with your sub facing into the box like mine to save box volume so you can make the box smaller to achieve the same volume. Also works to cool the voicecoil much better with vented motor subs.
