Question Did I blow my door speakers?

Over the past couple weeks my passenger door speaker has had a muffling sound to it. They are Blaupaunkt's and they are pretty decent. Just not sure if it's blown or if there's something wrong with that speaker. Can I physically see if it's blown?
Any suggestions?

Pull it. Take it inside and tape the leads from one of your home system's speakers to it. Turn the balance all the way over to the speaker you are testing. (If you can switch to "mono" vs Stereo, all the better) Play something with a lot of highs/brass/voice, but that isn't critical. Don't use a lot of volume -or at least start off quietly. If you've smoked your speaker, it will become readily apparent. If it's blown, the sound will be scratchy, blotchy, spotty, tinny, "ripped' and, in general, really FUBAR. The quality of the manufacturer has absolutely no bearing on whether you've blown it or not. If you've pushed it past its rating, any speaker will smoke.

Blown speaker

You can test the speaker with a meter using the ohms setting. The reading should be the same as on the back of the speaker or really close. If you do not have a meter a 9 volt batt. will do. Just touch the pos. and neg. leads from the batt. to the speaker. You may need to short pieces of wire. when you touch them the speaker should make a popping sound if it does it still works. Hope this will help you.
