Installation complete.

I put my Infinity 5752cf 5x7 door speakers in this evening. Everything went well. Except the factory speaker screw holes did'nt line up, and I had to drill two holes in the doors so they would fit correctly. And I Dynamatted around and behind each speaker. The sound is awesome, it has a bit more bass than the factory speakers, and the mids and highs are alot more noticable. For $100, you can't beat it with a stick. I was thinking about an amp to hook up to them, but they are way loud enough for me. Now it's time to decide what kind of woofers to get. Any opinions?

OVERALL, I THINK EVERYTHING IS OK WITH MY SYSTEM, BUT THERE IS A SLIGHT RESONANCE(VIBRATION) THROUGHOUT MY DASH AND DOORS WHEN MY SPEAKERS HIT A SUSTAINED LOW NOTE AT ABOUT 150Hz(GUESSING). IT DOES'NT DO IT WHEN THE BASS HITS THOUGH...IT HAS VERY TIGHT BASS(DUE TO THE DYNAMAT.)WHAT COULD BE THE CULPRIT?

Vibration only comes from one thing. Something's either loose, or in close enough proximity to something else to make a noise when sound waves hit it. You may have to get some spray-on dampener to squirt inside your doors (helped me big time) or nose around in your dash. Also check the glove box. <grin> Did you remember to wrap that church key in foam so it doesn't rattle against the box?
And an amp has more to do with sound quality than it does volume. It doesn't make your speakers louder. It gives them power so they can operate more efficiently -- and those Infinity's need power!! So they may sound louder, but it's a much cleaner sound without having to crank that volume **** as much. And when you do crank it, you don't get that fuzzy distortion. The amp for your front speakers doesn't have to be a big one -- 50 to 80 watts ought to be plenty. Use the big watts for your woof.

Thanks Sundog. I do have alot of loose stuff in my glovebox. And my ashtray in the cupholder is filled with change. Mainly pennies. Right after I wrote this thread, I went out and took my door panels back off and checked the passenger's side speaker, where most of the noise was coming from. The speaker adapter was caught behind the magnet and was lodged between it and a part of the door, causing it to vibrate badly. Got that fixed. But the dash rattling is problably what you said, "loose stuff in the glovebox", and the change tray. NUFF SAID. I've not heard from you in a while, where ya been?

BANG FOR THE BUCK!

I have the same speakers in the rear......I think they sound great for the money. I have mine amped and they and the tweeters aimed up and toward the rear passengers. Nice and clear highs, they don't have the greatest mid-bass, but they're in the rear anyhow.

WELL, I TOOK EVERYTHING OUT OF MY GLOVEBOX AND TOOK THE CHANGE OUT OF MY ASHTRAY. AND STILL I HAVE THE RATTLE. IT DOESN'T DO IT ALL THE TIME, JUST WHEN IT HITS A SUSTAINED LOW NOTE LIKE;(BASS GUITAR, BASS DRUM). AND THE DOORS STILL HAVE A LITTLE VIBRATION IN THEM WHEN IT'S TURNED UP WAY LOUD. THIS ONLY HAPPENS WHEN THE LONG (SUSTAINED) LOW NOTES ARE VIBRATING THROUGH THE SPEAKERS. COULD THIS BE NORMAL, OR AM I A LITTLE PARANOID? I BETTER GO TAKE MY MEDICINE!

THE VIBRATION IS NOT AT ALL THAT BAD. BUT WHEN YOU INSTALL NEW AUDIO EQUIPMENT, YOU WOULD EXPECT IT TO BE PERFECT WOULD'NT YOU. I GUESS I'M JUST A PERFECTIONIST WHO HAS TO HAVE EVERY LITTLE DETAIL"PERFECT!" IF SOMETHING GOES WRONG WITH MY TRUCK, OR ANYTHING FOR THAT MATTER, I GO ALL TO PIECES. BUT WHAT IS CAUSING A NEW TRUCK TO VIBRATE LIKE THAT! REGARDS; PARANOID.
