What Kind...

WHAT KIND OF SUBS WOULD BE GOOD TO PUT BEHIND THE SEAT OF MY REG. CAB F-150? I WILL CONSIDER ANYTHING BUT MTX. I ALREADY HAVE INFINITY FRONT DOOR SPEAKERS(NO AMP YET THOUGH), AND A KENWOOD CD PLAYER. AND I ALSO NEED A GOOD AMP TO PUSH THE SUBS WITH. ANY IDEAS WOULD BE GREATLY CONSIDERED. THANKS.

subs

I have two JLw6 tens and a kicker xl 240 dyno@370watts@2ohm mono

The JLs are clean with very little resonace and can handle alot of power. With the smallest enclosure airspace recommended the subs are responsive and punchy.

The kicker squares can do some damage, to your ears, wallet, and truck. Have a friend with three 12in. squares and 1200min. actual watts going to them and you can hear the bass untill yours ears can proccess it and then you can only feel the bass and it is clean and undestorted. While listening and watching his truck shack from the outside I saw the rear view mirrior fall from the windsheild and we laughed our heads off. Squares will break stuff.

THERE'S NOTHING WRONG WITH MTX. I GUESS IT'S BECAUSE A FEW YEARS BACK I OWNED A SET OF MTX TERMINATORS, AND THEY WERE THE 8" SUBS IN 2-WAY TRUCK BOXES POWERE BY A SMALL 140WATT AMP. THEY JUST DIDN'T KICK ENOUGH FOR ME. PROBLABLY BECAUSE OF THE SMALL AMP. BUT THEY DID SOUND GOOD THOUGH. I (MIGHT) CONSIDER MTX, BUT IT HAS TO BE A LARGER WOOFER LIKE A 10" OR 12". SORRY FOR THE PUTOWN rtroha. AND THANKS FOR THE REPLY V6runner.

Thumbs up No problem.

No problem Wolverine. I was just wondering if you had a bad experience with MTX. I bought mine because of recommendations on this board and I have no complaints. Well, none except since I've put the sub and amp in now I want more. So, a new HU and 4 new speakers are soon to be in my cab. It's a never ending battle isn't it?

I have an 01 F150 XLT regular cab and I have 2 10" Memphis Audio Studio 10's. They were designed as sound quality subs BUT they will still get loud. I highly recommend them.
