Question cerwin Vega and Crunch any good?

Hey guys, need some more help with subs. This one is not for my f-150 this time, but my new taurus. I found a good deal I think on two cervin vega subs and a cruch amp and wondered if it was any good. I have heard cruch is like jensen, and I am scared that these subs may be entry level jobs. They are HED 12's and the amp is p-2200 rated up to 800 x 1. They are located here

Anyone know? If not, I think I will go with another Sony Xplod 760 w. Amp and the MTX thunder 6000's. Very pleased with that set up in the truck. Thanks for any advice. Travis

Im not familiar with that paticualr modle of cv subs but cerwin vega makes top of line stuff and just like most co.s they also make a entry level stuff also the goes for the crunch amp. If it was a pretty good deal I woundnt be afraid of these two brands. As for the sub goes look at the basket , does it look high quality?what about the magnet what does it look like. hope I helped

CV HED series is a decent sub for the money. Its hard to judge an amp by its magnet (Sorry mr) jmo. If you did most people would not consider JL because even their w6 is a stamped steel basket and not cast aluminum.

Crunch is a little above Jensen with some good features. The amp is 1ohm stereo and 2ohm mono stable. I don't believe the 800w rating. Maybe on a good day with the wind at your back and 2 batteries. Crunch is owned/ built by Audio Products in Chicago and also owns Hifonics. I owned a 400w 4ch that did OK, but was not comp quality. For the price its not bad, I say go for it and let everyone know how it sounds!

Travis, I'm running a 4x100 and a 2x200 Crunch amps. They aren't great SPL amps, and are probably overrated, but for the price they do great. No problems with quality at all...hooked 'em up and they've worked fine for over a year now. I'm running the 2x200 in supposedly 1x800 driving the Thunderforms w/10" 6000s, and it makes them kick just fine. Even if it only puts out 600w, I got it on sale at Sounddomain.com for $170, so who cares?

Crunch amps
Stay away. Save up and get something else.

The CV HEDs are ok. You can probably find better for the price range.

Thanks guys, I think I might stay away from the crunch. Sounds like it might not be what i am looking for. I am so glad we have this forum to exchange feedback and probably save everyone lots of headaches. I think I might go back to the Thunder 8000's like in the f-150. I have nothing but good remarks about them. Thanks again all.
