which ones?
Alright guys, after a few years of prcrastinating, I finally got up the nerve to put some subs in my truck. The setup I have so far is a Rockford Fosgate 800.2 amp and a downfire box from subbox.net. I have been looking at these boxes for a while now, and I tihnk that I got the best one for my money. Now, here's the dilemma: I already bought the box and the amp, but I need to know what you guys think I should use for the subs. I'm getting 2 10"s, and was leaning towards the RF HE2s until I got talked into the JL 10W1s. I don't know though, those speakers don't hold enough watts for what I was looking for. What else did you guys put in your boxes, and did anyone go with the same setup that I did?
JL makes a great sub IMHO, but I would jump up to the W3. You'll double the wattage and get dual coils -- a far more stable unit that will really pump out the lower decibels with your RF hummer. While others will tell you there are other good subs out there -- and there are, certainly -- I think dollar for dollar, JL makes one of the best quality subs available. Whatever you do, please do a lot of listening to different brands, hooked up to a similar sized amp before deciding.
Well, I was looking at those also. The only thing that I have to worry about is what will fit in my box and what won't. The w1's are made specifically for a smaller box and smaller airspace. The box has .75 cu.ft. of airspace per sub, which isn't bad. I just need to find out all of the mounting depths.
hey... I've got the same box you do. I swear by these subs...
