Question Should I do this......

I want to replace all (four) of my stock 6x8's in my truck with better quality speakers. I was thinking of buying a small amp to help push these speakers, since I want to keep the stock head unit. (single CD disk)

Do I have the hook ups I need on this factory head unit? And if so does anyone recommend a good bang for the buck product?

I am wanting a bit more bass without adding a SUB.

Thanks!!!

To add an amp you will need one with speaker level inputs or use line level converters. There are no line level outputs on the stock HU.

www.davidnavone.com is a good source of LOC units.

I know everybody says this, but replace the deck. You won't need an amp then and they sound much better. If you do make sure it has mosfett power supply and in the 45 to 50 watt range. I have the pioneer 6x8's....they sound nice. sometimes i turn the sub off and just listen to them.

Thumbs up

Yep, a good basic system really does make all the difference. All you need is a nice head unit, a decent 4 channel amp, and the best speakers you can afford. The factory system is okay, but there's room for improvement( alot of room!!),,,,98
