Speaker Wire adapters
I am in the process of replacing my factory speatkers with a 2 way componit set I had in storage, MB Quart's.
To make a long story short I am not upgrading everything yet and I want to retain the factory connection to the speakers. I have been unable to locate the adapters that plug into the factory harness.
Any one know where I can find these, local to Dallas? I have tried several places and they do not have the correct connectors for the 2001, it is different than the 97/98.
Thanks

After trying several stereo shops with no luck, I ended up getting some from Crutchfield for about $10 a pair.

I'm trying hard not to splice into the factory harness, not looking good. I called Crutchfield and found that Metra Electronics is there supplier for wireing. I hane been to there web site and traded e-mails with there tech's and so far have not found the correct adapter.
Will keep you posted on the progress, or lack there of.

I have not ripped open the panels yet, but for those of you that spliced, can you help on the wire colors vs. positive/ negative connections. I plan on installing front door speakers this weekend and need to know soon!!! Thanks ahead for any help.

This place is also a wonderful source for all the little nitty stuff that is hard to find anywhere else. I've had good service, and the one return I had because of improper fit was handled quickly. Check it out:

LightningCrew,
You don't need to know the color of the wire to find the positieve and negative speaker wires in the doors.
The FAT connector is the POSITIVE side, the THIN connector is the NEGATIVE side. It's that easy. AND, if you plan on doing any work at the head unit, make note if the colors and polarity at each door, cause then you know what the colors are at the head unit too.
PS- Just cut off the retarded Ford speaker connector.
