Question Tech. Assistance Needed... Please Help

Ok. I want to put a system in my truck and I have a friend selling some amps and subs. I am absolutley clueless when it comes to ohm ratings and watts. If someone could please explain this to me, I would really appreciate. I would like to know if either of the two kinds of subs he has will work with one of the amps he has left. The amp is a Pyramid PB1080 1400W 4-channel amp. It says it is 2 ohm stereo stable and bridgeable into 4 ohms. It also says: 4x350watts max or 2x700watts max bridged. The subs are Pioneer TS-W254C 10" component subs and is 4 ohm rated. It has 250watts rms and 500watts max. The other subs are Pioneer TS-W254DVC 10" dual voice coil subs that are 2 ohm or 8 ohm rated and have a rms of 250 watts and a max of 500 watts. I would like to run two 10's to the amp. Would either of these subs work? And if so, how do I wire them? Thanx

Go with the 2 single voice coil subs. Although the amp is rated at 1400watts, the acutal power is maybe 1/2 that. As long as you don't keep it cranked where it starts to distort, you will be just fine. Pioneer subs are fairly durable and should do you just fine.

Thanks. I'm glad to hear that. What I want to know now, is how to wire it up. Do I wire the subs in series or parallel? If you have a diagram or know where I can find one on how to wire the amp, subs, all to the headunit and batterie, I would really appreciate it. Thanks in advance for any help.

No prob on the advice. I like to help.
Wire the subs in parallel (+ to + and - to -)then run the wires same to the amp for each channel. This will present a 2 ohm load to the amp.
For the amp wiring, I would use at least 8 ga wire with a fuse no more than 12 in or so from the battery. The ground wire should be the same size and as close to the amp as possible. The seat bolt CAN be a good spot, but not always. A self tapping scre works very well also. Be sure to take the area down to bare metal, then repaint it after you make the connection. The remote turn on lead goes to the HU if you are using an aftermarket deck. It will be tagged as antenna lead or amp lead. If you are using the factory deck, run the wire to the fuse panel to a switched ignition lead.
Hope this helps
