Sub-Woofer volume

I have a 2013 FX4 with the factory Sony system. I don't believe that there is a separate control for the sub-woofer I think it is controled by the bass slider.
When I turn the bass up as loud as it will go, i can only hear it if I lift the seat and place my ear close to the speaker box.
I have read that this system is junk. Is this as good as it gets or might there be a problem with the system???

Thanks for any advice

I don't have the Sony system as my truck is an 05 but it sounds like you may have a ground issue or something has come dis-connected. At full bass it should thump pretty well unless the Sony system is complete junk.

Sony system is complete junk.

If your coming from a vehicle that had an actual sub in it, the sony sub will never compare, but you can try adding some polyfill to the box to help it out some.

I have the Audiophile system in my 05...

On occasion, the subwoofer in my truck will sound muted (you can hear noise coming out of it, but its muffled...)...I have to turn the radio off, then back on, and all is fine...the problem is very intermittent (like its happened less than 10 times in 9 years...)

My best friend comments on how nice the stereo sounds in my truck fwiw...I like it also, just wish it was louder!!

They ordered a new sub woofer should be installed friday. Thanks guys.

There's also the poly fill mod to tighten up the bass
