Rockford fosgate speakers

I have a 2003 ford f150 I wanna put rocksford fosgate speakers in it. It's the short cab truck. I was told to get the power series or the punch series. What size should I get or what size will fit in the truck. I can cut the wholes out if needed. Also should I get like the punch series and put two in the back then two power series in the doors? If I get then should they have an amp added ? I'm not adding subs or anything just speakers. Thanks for the help.

5x7 or 6x8, they are basically the same size.

If your still on the stock headunit, you'll most likely want an amp. If you have an aftermarket one, I'd try it out and see how you like it first. However if you go with a set of components, you'd really want an amp for those.

With the power series though, they'll really come to life with an amp. However they have a somewhat deep mounting depth, so id make sure they'd fit inside the doors.

Well I have a JVC head unit. Should I go with all punch series so I'm sure they'll fit or what should I do with this set up ? I'm really new with speakers.

I went to crutchfield.com and checked the sizes for your truck. If you do the same, you can see what exactly fits, but it looks like all of the power series fit except the 6 3/4" components. The punch series fit as long as you stay with the 5x7/6x8 speakers or the 5 1/4" components. The others say "modified fit" so that sounds like you can make them work with a little work.

I'll check them out. Do the punch serried speakers have more bass ? I get the motive that they do because " punch" seems basses but I don't honestly know. I was gonna put the punch series in the back of my cab so I have more bass ( if they are bassier) and the power series up in the doors for the sound. But if one doesn't have more bass then the other or anything like that. Which would you prefer for all around in the truck. I listen to some rock but mainly just all country. The newer country I may add.
