best products for system upgrade

hey all,
so as stated in a previous thread of mine im looking to upgrade the factory ford system in my 2012. all I have is sync (no nav or sony).
so my question is what products do you guys recommend for doing this.
ie. what speakers, subs, sub box, amps, and converter so it will run off stock head unit.
thanks in advance

What's your budget?

What do you want, SQ,SPL, somewhere in between, etc?

SQ = sound quality = $$$$$

SPL = sound pressure level = $

One is NOT the same as the other. E.g - LOUD and CRAPPY can be done on the cheap. Just buy everything from Walmart

BTW - here's a sample build that you can use as a starting point. Ol' Peetz will have some reservations with some of the amp choices though

SQ = sound quality
SPL = sound pressure levels
Somewhere in the middle = a mix of the two.

Basically what sound are you going for? All around quality that blends and creates a nice soundstage, a little bit clearer miss and highs with the big booming back seat, or just an upgrade over stock that fills in what's missing

So you want it to sound clear while still being able to turn it up and shake the windows, onto the next questions..

Are you installing or paying for install?
Are you going to build the sub box, have it built, or buy a cheap prefab?
I'm assuming you want the sub to fit under the rear seat, correct?

now im thinking about going to an aftermarket deck. double din nav unit. what all is normally needed? like is the rear view camera feed able to be moved from the mirror to the deck? am I able to keep the factory Sirius unit? would the steering wheel controls be able to be set to be used exactly like factory with an interface unit? would going this way be cheaper/give me better sound options as opposed to keeping stock head unit

That sub/box/amp combo would not be a good match. Two of those subs require 3-4 cubic feet of volume for a vented enclosure, the box you recommended is only 2 cubic feet. Two of those subs have an rms rating of 500 watts each, so you would want somewhere around 1,000 watts rms, but the amp you recommended is only rated at 500 watts rms.
I would not recommend putting 10" subs in any door.

I don't know about moving the video feed, but I don't see why not. And I have no idea about the Sirius. But, there are harnesses available to make everything on the steering wheel work exactly like it should.

If you get the head unit from Crutchfield, you can easily do it yourself. It really is easy peasy with all of the super specific directions and wiring harness. Speakers are very easy as well. Subs and an amp are more complicated, but not bad. Paying for install on all of these things would eat up at least half of your budget. If you really don't want to install them yourself, find a buddy to help.

Looks like a perfect match for that box and amplifier combo would be the JL Audio 10WXv2 and wont break the bank either.
