I'm replacing the "premium" factory radio with a Clarion CZ702 - wanted bluetooth streaming. For speakers, I was thinking to get a drop-in replacement for the high-distortion, muffled sounding speakers. I don't think I will invest in an amp for this oldie truck.

I prefer laid back/smooth highs and good bass extension. I often run EQ at -2db highs, neutral mids and +2 bass. As I will be powering the new speakers from the HU, I am looking for reasonably good efficiency. I don't play excessively loud, but the truck is used for towing, and there is a lot of background noise just from that. In the same sense I don't need super hi fi quality, but I'll take as much quality I can get for up to $200.

Any recommendations? Thanks!

(I run Dynaudio Excite X12 speakers at home if that helps for reference
