Sub help

I have a box that I have made (sealed) with .95cuft of air space. I have a 10 rated for .75 cuft. And a 12 which calls for 1.25 cuft. I really want to use the 12 but am wondering which would work best before I cut the opening. Thanks for any help.

What kind of power will you be using on it? And what kind of subs are they?

You could make the ten work if you keep the power low and be careful with it. Or the 12 would work as is but may lack some bottom end, but that can be fixed with some poly fill (it's a couple bucks for a pound at Walmart or most craft stores). If it was me I'd go with the 12" (depending on what sub it is and what the ten is) and some polyfill in the box. Just make sure to staple/glue it off to the sides so it doesn't get up in the magnet, is start by adding about a 1/2 pound and go from there until it sounds about right. It's been a while since I read up on it but iirc it was like 1 pound per cubic foot "adds" like 20-30% airspace. That is if you end up going that route haha. Either way keep us posted on what you decide to do!

Good luck!

300W from a JBL amp. Both subs are older infinity's. I could buy new stuff but nothing is wrong with what I already have.

Yea no point in buying new stuff if what you have works and makes you happy ha. If the subs are pretty much the same though like model, specs, etc just different sizes I'd go with the 12.
