Troubleshoot, speaker cutout!! Help!

Hello all you audio heads!!!

2006 Spercrew

I am having an issue with one side of my door speakers cutting out when at low volume. But as soon as I turn the volume up it comes back on and stays on. Only happens intermittenly. Seems like its getting a weak signal or something???

Where do I need to troubleshoot??

I have already replaced RCA wires and checked all conections between amp and speaker. Rear speakers have no problem, and again its only one side.

Speakers are powered by a 2 channel amp running off a Factory Nav radio

Thanks in advance for the help

if it's only one side it's the wire. factory wire???? try running a seprate wire from amp to speaker and see if it still has a problem, directly. open up door panel and connect to speaker.

Im not using factory wires I ran my own from amp to xover to speakers. Guess I could have a bad wire? Or connection somewhere? Anything else it could be?

Yes already check connections. By rehooking everything again. Anything out of the obvious it could be? Anything wrong with the amp? Maybe the terminals on the inside? Is it a sign my xovers are going out? Any help?? it's annoying!!

Easiest way to check and see if its the amp, switch the left and right side speaker wires on the amp, and if the problem goes to the other side of the truck then you can narrow it down to something with that sides rca inputs, outputs, etc. If the problem doesn't switch sides it could be a sign on the crossover or the speaker going bad.

I have an old school soundstream amp that was repaired and now has that exact same problem. Sounds cuts out on one channel when volume is low, turn it up and it comes on.

I did this and now the same problem is on the other side. How to narrow it down more??? Just replaced RCAs and I think it's something with the amp. Can it be repaired or just get another?? Thanks again

It's the amp if it switched sides. What kind of amp? Almost all can be repaired but depending on brand, specs, age, etc.. You could be better off getting another.
