12" Sub Box Sketchup

Messed around with google sketchup and came up with this...yall think its worth a damn and will be functional? Im fabricating seat lifts also to make room for the box...How do I make sure that vent lenght, width, the whole nine yards with the vent is correct? Couldnt figure out how to upload the image directly to this post so heres the link ...

found this calculator http://www.carstereo.com/help/Articles.cfm?id=31 and used the second option to figure out my length...according to that with the frequency tuned to 34hz it says my vent length should be 11.18in....should it be no more than that or should i make my vent opening from 2" to 3"...at 3"
it says my length would be closer to where I already have it in my SKETCHUP plan at 17.6" vent length...also are there in pro/cons as to shorter vent opening width versus a wider width?

What's the airspace of the box before displacement?

It looks like it'll work good if you make the width 3" otherwise the port is way too long, and you'll be tuned way too low with a 2" wide port.

Looks pretty good. I had a '94 F150 regular cab, and stuck a box behind the bench seat - pushed me up into the steering wheel. At the time, my tunes were more important than the chest injuries if I had a wreck...which I did a few months later. Nice design you have.

I was off on my cubic ft...its more like 1.4 cubic ft...using 3/4 mdf and didnt take that into consideration...so according to the calculator with the box ive mocked up, a 3in wide vent would make the overall length of the vent 27in which wont work bc itll be in way of the sub...this is all still tuned at 34hz...im lookin for bass and seen that if i tuned it to 37 hz it would make the overall length 22in with 3in wide vent, will i notice that much of a difference?

With it at 37hz you can damage the sub if you try to play low rap songs especially stuff that has the computerized bass in it. So it can be done and it'll make a great all around tuning level, but rap songs won't sound as loud and you can't turn it up as much on them. I'd just stick to a 2" wide vent, that's plenty wide enough. What airspace does your sub require?

my sub requires 1.5 cubic ft ported...so i may have to do a lil more figuring being i only have 1.4 right now...or will it be fine staying at 1.4?

I'd go up to what's recommend unless you'll be feeding it about 100 or so more rms that what it wants
